Academic Upgrading & GED Test Preparation

English, Mathematics & Optional Sciences

Results-oriented educational training for WSIB claimants and others. Based on our academic assessment of the current levels, an individualized study-plan is designed in consultation with the case managers and learners to develop the academic skills necessary for the achievement of education or employment goals.

Course Aim

Upon completion, learners may continue in the GED Preparation program, qualify for admission into Career or Trades programs, or enter the workplace or write the course exam to obtain Ontario High School Credits necessary for a High School Diploma.

GED Test Preparation

The GED Preparation Program offers individualized instruction that responds to each student’s needs by identifying areas in which assistance is needed.

Course Aim

A comprehensive review of all required subjects to help prepare students to write the GED test.

Individualized Training Plan

The Individualized Training Plan is developed in collaboration with the case manager, teacher, and the learner to provide comprehensive English & Mathematics upgrading from the most elementary level to Grade 12 equivalency. The plan includes testing dates, lesson plans, and monthly program timelines & reporting schedule.

Each learner is expected to spend 3-4 hours in class, and to complete 2-4 hours of independent review daily – an effort of between 20 to 25 hours per week.
