Program Objective |

As a Health
unit
coordinator,
you'll work
in a
hospital or
office
setting,
assisting
nursing
staff with
non-clinical
clerical
tasks.
You'll
perform a
variety of
services for
patients,
visitors and
hospital
management. |

Successful graduates
will achieve the CMAP (Certified Medical
Assisting Professional) designation, in addition
to their diploma. They are fully qualified to
work in a hands-on administrative /clinical
support capacity in any medical field, such as a
unit clerk in a hospital nursing unit or
outpatient department.
Health unit
coordinators handle everything from maintaining
patient charts and scheduling diagnostic tests
to ordering supplies and transcribing doctor's
orders. |

·On-site work-experience through participation in
a 1-month clinical externship at an approved
healthcare training facility
